The ideal size for this tour is 30-100 students, but we can accommodate more (or less) if you contact us soon enough. All scheduled tours require a deposit.
Tours can be scheduled at 10:00, noon, 2:00, or 4:00.
Our most popular tour has improved with the addition of our schoolhouse, an authentic replica of the 1850 Eagle Creek school, which was the first successful public school in Oregon. Aimed at 4th graders, teachers of kindergarten through 8th graders tell us their students love our field trip, learn from it, and remember it for years! The PLT begins with a brief review of safety rules for students. After that, groups of about ten are sent to their stations to rotate around the farm, learning about pioneer life as they go. The total tour takes two hours, and includes pioneer activities like corn-grinding, crosscut saw, building a log cabin, laundry, tours of an 1860 house, 1870 barn, and of course the 1850 schoolhouse. The following information applies to field trips scheduled for 2023. Due to inflation and a reduction in available volunteers, prices will be going up in 2024.
